ABOUT US

Bahamas Dive Guides was built from a lifetime spent in the water. Long before this became our work, diving was simply how we lived—exploring reefs, blue holes, mangroves, and open ocean across the Bahamas from a young age. The places we guide today are not locations we learned from charts or briefings, but environments we’ve observed, studied, and returned to repeatedly over decades, in every condition and season.

We are a network of Bahamian watermen who do for work what we would do for play. Our experience spans scuba diving, freediving, and spearfishing, allowing us to move seamlessly between disciplines and tailor each day to the people onboard. Whether guiding guests through shallow mangrove systems, introducing first-time freedivers to crystal-clear reefs, or leading experienced divers on deeper wrecks and shark encounters, our approach is flexible, informed, and deeply local.

As our work with yachts grew, so did our purpose. Rather than operating as a separate outfitted excursion, our goal became to integrate seamlessly with yacht operations—joining onboard as trusted in-water support for captains and crew. We understand the rhythm of yacht life and work closely with crews to ensure every experience feels natural, efficient, and effortless for guests. For yachts cruising the Bahamas without intimate local knowledge of where to anchor or dive, our guides provide clarity, confidence, and access.

Our private charters were born from a desire to do things differently. Having previously worked within large dive shop operations, we saw the limitations of fixed schedules, mixed groups, and one-size-fits-all experiences. Bahamas Dive Guides was created to offer something more personal—small, private groups where we can share deeper knowledge, adapt to guest interests, and design each outing around what guests genuinely want to see and experience.

At the core of everything we do is a respect for the ocean. Conservation and sustainability are not add-ons to our work; they are part of how we dive, fish, and guide. From responsible spearfishing practices to educating guests on marine life behavior and habitat protection, we believe that meaningful experiences create lasting advocates for the ocean.

Founded by André Musgrove, a world-renowned underwater photographer, filmmaker, and lifelong waterman born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas Dive Guides exists to share the Bahamas as it is meant to be experienced—through local knowledge, thoughtful guidance, and a deep connection to the sea.
